About Me

Alex Shebar is a professionally trained and award winning writer, filmmaker, blogger, reporter, community manager and rocker, but, you know, without the money or fame.
His passion lies in pop-culture and personal feature stories, but he’s written for online, breaking news, business, sports and editorial. His work has been featured on some of the Web’s most popular sites, including The Huffington Post, CNN, The Daily Beast, MTV, BoingBoing and as the front-page main piece on Yahoo and MSN.com (Check out some of his clips HERE.)
(Alex wouldn’t call himself a Jack of All Trades, but something like that … Perhaps a King of All Trades.)
Currently, Alex is the first ever Community Manager for Yelp.com in Cincinnati. He works with businesses to show everything useful, funny and cool the city has to offer, which often includes eating and drinking (two skills which he is very good at.) Alex has also been known to throw a kickass party or two, like this one at the neon-drenched American Sign Museum.
Alex has dual degrees in English and Journalism from Syracuse University and has done work for newspapers, magazines, Web sites, blogs, film companies, ad companies and more.
He is often thought-well of by his mother, so, in the end, he’s got that going for him.
